Thor film duh

Suprised not a thread on this film yet. Talk about expectation meter :toj:

Baffling how with Ragnarok, its gonna be a trilogy for the Lightning God that'll league into most mediocre MCU film.

Dark World had promising start & rest was garbage. Too dark for its own good. I mean visually only. Nothing dark storywise

Ragnarok supposed to mean end of everything. Yet teaser & trailers give off wacky GoTG vibe. Talk abt identity crisis.

Not to mention "Revengers" & Banner staying as Hulk by default seemingly a jab at Russo Bro's decision of excluding Thor & Hulk from CA: Civil War

Its not like Im looking forward to this film. Just wanna know general consensus here

Marvel is doing the Planet Hulk story but with Thor. Ragnarok is suppose to mean the end for Thor but you know they don't care and only picked the title because it sounded cool. Looking forward to this for the Hulk content but not so much Thor. Also I agree with your assessment on Thor 2.

They better give at least a decent Hulk storyline.

I felt Banner/Black Widow angle to be a joke. Lack of chemistry/emotional connection & just cuz both had character baggage, it doest sell it.

Hulk portrayed in 2008 by Ed Norton directed by Louis Leterrier had distinct personality. Dude was enigmatic. Was cool, rugged, barbaric yet charming.

Ragnarok was courteous to give "few corny lines". Lets see how it goes

There was already a thread for this movie.

This just makes it confusing, because there is already a movie simply titled 'Ragnarok'.

Piccolo: Just how many people have you sacrificed?!

Cell: Sacrifice? Hmph, rubbish! On the contrary, it is an honor to become a fraction of my power.

I agree with all of this. Black Widow being into banner really felt shoehorned into an already bulk screenplay. Plus we had already seen her develop this kind of chemistry with other characters like Stark, Cap, and Hawkeye, so the flirtation here didn't strike me as genuine, more just a way to give both characters something to do.

2008 Hulk is a movie I enjoy a lot. Specifically I am a big fan of the "man on the run" type of Hulk character like he was portrayed in the TV show. Just a dude trying to stay out of trouble and trying to find a way to overcome the Hulk inside of him.

Hulk is good in the film. That's all I can say for now. Go out and watch it in cinemas near you on Nob 3rd.

I recommend those who keep saying

A) oh it's just a planet hulk movie with Thor in it
Or
B) the only picked the title to sound cool

To actually watch the movie once it comes out in their area, that's all I'll say

Not only is Hemsworth the best part of the movie, but the movie is VERY much about the "twilight of the gods" (with its own Waititi twist on it)

The goofiness of the trailers seem a bit odd.

Early reviews poured in & looks like its marginally better than its previous 2 films. Which isnt sayin much really when 1 is dull piece, nother is dummy piece. As suspected, strong vibe of Guardian of The Galaxy 2 is evident throughout the film.

Fun. Funny. Funnier. Funniest. Dude made f**kin slapstick comedy starring the HULK (arguably strongest Avenger), Hela (Goddest of Death), Thor (Lightning God, son of Odin the King of Asgard) & Loki (mfker who invaded Earth with Chitauri Armies)!!!!!

Making The Hulk and Thor into buddy cops basically.

It wasn't terrible. It was certainly leaps and bounds above the second one. But yeah as others have guessed from the trailers it was indeed way too goofy. I don't mind a bit of banter between characters and the odd slapstick moment but this film went too far with it. Like you said, it's not GotG2, it's f***ing Thor. Get your damn tone right Marvel.

Also what they did to Grandmaster, terrible. Just terrible. Korg I can take because I admit he was funny (though he shouldn't have been) and his design was arguably better than the comics. None the less this film could have been so much better if they just kept it straight more often and made the Grandmaster cool.

Just came from the cinemas, man this movie suppprionly funny. Hulk is not as bad a*** as I wanted him to be, especially how the comic version held off Sentry.
Spoiler: click to toggle

Hela is bad a***, but executioner is annoying as character.

lol of course the MCU Hulk isn't anywhere near as badass as the comic one, why would he be? None of the MCU characters are.

Also, Executioner...? Yet another character they get to crap all over.

@Pelador

How was his design, better, exactly? From what I've seen in screenshots he looks the damn same.

He's bigger, has a smaller head and is a different colour. Plus he actually looks like he's made of rock and not corn.

I don't see any changes besides his skin color.

Also, apparently they forgot Kronans aren't living rocks, but beings with organs and all that jazz. They don't do any research for these movies do they?
